2013 Town Meeting Zoning Ordinance Amendments
Planning Board Proposed Amendments #17 & #18
The Planning Board has been working since June 2012 on this year’s Town Meeting Zoning Ordinance Amendments. The Board held many subcommittee meetings, workshops and public hearings on the proposed changes and values all the comments and hours of participation by Town residents and business owners.
As a way to help educate the public about the 18 Planning Board proposed Zoning Ordinance amendments on the Town Warrant, articles on each of the proposed amendments will be published before the March 12th Town Meeting vote.
Amendment #17 – Business Commercial District B, Section 671.1
This proposed Amendment is to delete a use listed as allowed (telephone exchange buildings, radio stations, television stations, commercial antenna structures, and other utility structures) that should have been deleted in a prior year’s amendment but was not done due to an oversight. This is a clean-up amendment that has no impact on what is allowed in the Business Commercial District B area of Town.
Amendment #18 - Governmental Installations, Section 712
This proposed Amendment is to revise the language of Section 712 to be in conformance with State law (RSA 674:54) and to ensure that it is the Planning Board that holds a public hearing on any proposed governmental installations.
Copies of all proposed Town Meeting Zoning Amendments are available on the 2013 Town Meeting page of the Town web site (www.windhamnewhampshire.com) and at the Community Development Department.
