Dozens of Local Companies Prepare for Eco-Friendly Fair

The popular "Go Green Fair and Farmer's Market" will take place on April 7.

Over 40 companies from around the area will be involved in the annual "Go Green Fair and Farmer's Market" coming to Windham High School this weekend.

The free event, which Community Development Director Laura Scott said is "well attended and lots of fun for the community," is meant to raise awareness about trying to leave a smaller carbon footprint.

The event will begin at 10:30 a.m. and run until 3 p.m. During that timeframe, those attending will be given the opportunity to check out what the local vendors have to offer as well as purchase raffle tickets for prizes.

The event is sponsored by the high school's Go Green Club, which is headed by WHS junior Kate Farrell.

According to a release from the organization, Farrell explained some of the vendors that will be at the fair.

In some cases the vendors at the upcoming fair use more recycled materials. In some cases the vendors are League of N.H. Craftsmen or more local and therefore, their products do not need to be purchased from other states and delivered – reducing the amount of gas and energy required to obtain the product. In some cases, the vendor's main production place uses 100 percent wind or soal energy.

The event will take place entirely indoors and will be open for all ages.
Starting at 11 a.m. and running until 12:30 p.m., there will also be a free movie.

The following companies and vendors have already donated to the fair or will be attending:

A Simply Wholesome Life, Animal Rescue League, Cabot Cheese, Cracklequin Flat Bread Crackers, Daniel Harty – Mercury education, Details by DiFranco, EcoHeat Solutions, Ecozip, Emmett’s Edibles, Erin Joyce – hand painted eggs, Freihoffer, GoGreenGo, Karley’s Honey, Labor of Love Diapers, Lia Sophia/Mary Kay, Madison Hand Bags, McGuinness Tree Service, Misty's Naturals, Natura Pet, Nature Made Simple, Pam Parent – home made mini-pies, breads, cookies, dried floral wreaths, Precision Laser Engraving, Relive International, Ricky Corner Soap Works, Salem Farmer’s Market, Save the Earth, Scentsy, Shaklee Ambassador - Eric Schwegler, Simply Wholesome, Slipper Soap and Lotions, Alex Sloan - hand made jewelry, Stephanie Swanick- hand made jewelry, Snow Pond Alpaca Farm, Super Tours & Boston Upper Deck Trolley Tours, Vicki Ciofrone – hand processed angora yarn, Windham Deli, Windham Rail Trail Alliance, and Windham Town Clean-up representative.
