Windham Singer to Take Center Ice Tonight at Bruins Game

Emma Joanis, who has plenty of experience performing at New England sports events, will be at TD Garden tonight.

The long-tenured Rene Rancourt might be a Boston Bruins favorite, but Windham teenager Emma Joanis might be gunning for his job.

The local singer will once again perform at a New England sporting event when she takes to the TD Garden ice tonight to sing the National Anthem.

The game is against the Florida Panthers and will be broadcast on NESN at 7 p.m.

In the past, Joanis has performed the Star Spangled Banner for the Bruins, Celtics and even a NASCAR event up in Loudon. She sang "God Bless America" prior to a Red Sox game, and last year, her vocals introduced President Barack Obama to Windham.

Other recent accomplishments include her acceptance into the Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick, Mass. and a feature in N.H. Magazine. She will also compete as one of 10 finalists in N.H. Idol tomorrow, which is a competition in Concord meant to fundraise for Brooklyn Bouchard, a Loudon 5-year-old who lost her battle with Spinal Muscular Atrophy on March 9.
