The Boston-based all-female Celtic roots quartet Long Time Courting ushers in the holiday season with a return show in downtown Nashua. Bringing together the talents of Sarah Blair on fiddle/vocals, Liz Simmons on guitar/vocals, Shannon Heaton on flute/accordion/vocals, and Valerie Thompson on cello/vocals, Long Time Courting shares a love of traditional Irish, Scottish and American folk music as well as contemporary material. They bring elements of these various genres to their repertoire in a way that is seamlessly arranged and skillfully rendered. Drawing from the deep well of traditional music, Long Time Courting finds new and satisfying ways of making jigs, reels, and old ballads accessible to the modern folk audience. The members of the group are all seasoned performers, having toured with such notable acts as The John Whelan Band, Childsplay, Robbie O’Connell, Aoife Clancy, and Laura Cortese’s Acoustic Project.
