Windham Community Development Office Closed Today

Here are seven things you should know in Windham today.

1. Closed for the day. The Windham Community Development will be closed all day this Wednesday, Sept. 25.

2. Earn an extra $100 a week! The Town of Windham is accepting applications for the position of Minute Taker. This position composes meeting minutes of land use board meetings, including the Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Adjustment. Attendance at the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment night meetings is required. The Planning Board meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays and the Zoning Board of Adjustment meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, although the schedule is subject to change.Compensation is $100.00 per meeting, which includes attendance at the meeting and composition of minutes. 3. Embrace your inner food lover in Windham!
 The 1st Annual Windham Foodie Weekend, which runs September 27th-29th, is packed full of tasty treats to keep you busy and full all weekend long.  Throughout the three days, multiple businesses are offering special sales and samples to 
those that mention  the “Foodie Weekend” when you visit their locations.  For more information on the participating businesses click here.

4. The weatherman says ... Mostly sunny skies await, with a high near 69. Tonight, it looks to be mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming clear, with a low around 47.

5. One more tournament. Squeeze in another golf tournament before the season ends. There is still time to register for CBM Cares 11th annual Golf Classic benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Nashua & Greater Salem. It's a day of golf, camaraderie, and - most importantly - supporting a great organization that helps kids in the community. There will be Breakfast by Frederick's Pastries, Dinner by the Texas Road House, and great raffle prizes - and  your chance to win some contests! Individual golfers and foursomes are welcome!  Learn more and register here.

6. Competitive fishing. Student bass fishing tournaments are a popular new high school sports competition in New Hampshire. A qualifying tournament with 42 registered teams will take place on Thursday, Sept. 26, out of Lee’s Mills on Lake Winnipesaukee. The finals tournament for the top 13 or so teams is set for Saturday, Oct. 5, on Lake Winnisquam. The tournaments include a strong educational component. Teams have adult mentors who guide them through the process of learning about New Hampshire's aquatic resources and the responsibility that goes along with being anglers.
