Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains, serving more than 12,000 girls in New Hampshire and Vermont, urge everyone to be safe and prepared for wintry weather. First, follow the weather forecast.
For your home:
Clear all exits of snow in case of fire

If you lose power, never run a generator or grill inside

Have a fire extinguisher and know how to use it
Make sure smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are working
Bring pets and animals inside in extreme weather
For your car, be sure to carry:
Snowbrush and ice scraper
Flashlight, boots, extra gloves
Blanket or sleeping bag
Energy bars and drinking water
First-aid kit
Sand or kitty litter, and keep windshield washer fluid filled
