Windham Grandma Wins Ms. NH Senior America Crown

70-year-old moves onto Atlantic City for national competition.

Barbara Danais wasn't born in New Hampshire, but she's proven the top representation of the state in her senior years.

Danais, was born and raised in New Jersey and moved to the Granite State in 1978.

Now, 35 years later, she's been named Ms. New Hampshire Senior America.

Ironically, Danais now travels back to New Jersey where she'll compete for the national crown in Atlantic City this October.

A mother of three and grandmother of four, the 70-year-old Windham resident is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, where she earned highest honors while receiving an Associate in Science degree in Business Administration.

Music and dancing are both passions of Danais, according to her Ms. Senior America profile, which states that she entered the Ms. Senior America competition because she: thrives on new opportunities to inspire seniors to achieve their “optimal enjoyment of life.”Plans are underway for the 2014 state pageant.
