Windham Singer to Perform for Celtics Again

Emma Joanis will once again take to the TD Garden parquet floor.

A Windham resident will once again sing the Star Spangled Banner in front of thousands of Boston Celtics fans during a game next week.

According to her mother, Emma Joanis has been welcomed back to the TD Garden to sign before a game on Nov. 9, a Friday game.

The Celtics will take on a divisional rival, the Philadelphia 76ers, at 7:30 p.m.

Last season, Emma sang the National Anthem before a rivalry game against the New York Knicks. That game was nationally televised on ABC.

It has been a wild couple of years for the daughter of school board member Mike Joanis.

Emma has been busy at both sporting and non-sporting events. She has also flexed her pipes at the Red Sox, Bruins and NASCAR.

For the NASCAR event, Emma beat out several other competitors in an American-idol style competition to seize the opportunity.

Her most prominent appearance yet may have been in August, when Joanis was front and center singing for President Barack Obama at Windham High School.

It was an experience that she called "different" from her normal sports gigs, but one that she was very excited about given that she is a big fan of Obama.

The Joanis family hosted another Democrat, Ann McLane Kuster, at their home for a party in October.

There, Kuster referred to Emma as "so poised" during the Obama event, where she met the Joanis family.
