Tar Sands Exposed: Exploring the Human and Environmental Costs

Dramatic photography from award-winning international photojournalist Garth Lenz and the first-hand experience of First Nations residents are part of "Tar Sands Exposed: Exploring the Human and Environmental Costs." This presentation provides an opportunity to learn about one of the hottest environmental issues of today – mining tar sands in Alberta, Canada. Then, two local environmentalists who recently hiked the entire route of the proposed Portland-Montreal tar sands pipeline across northern NH will share stories of the communities they visited along the way.

Join us on Monday, January 27, at 7 PM in the Lindsay Center, Room 131, at St. Paul's School, 325 Pleasant Street in Concord, NH. Admission is free. Sponsored by the National Resources Defense Council, 350.org, and 350 Maine. Presented locally by St. Paul's School/Louis F. Bishop III Memorial Lecture, NH Audubon Society, National Wildlife Federation, and 350NH. For more information, call the Audubon Society of NH at 603.224.9909.
