Windham Mom Helping Canines Through Photography

Angela Sanscrainte is selling beautiful photos to help beautiful animals in need.

Angela Sanscrainte has been a foster owner of forgotten, neglected and abused dogs for over seven years, but now she wants to use one of her favorite hobbies to give back to canines in a whole new way.

The proud temporary parent of of over 70 dogs in her tenure of volunteering, Sanscrainte has also spent that time capturing those animals and the rest of the world around her using photography.

Through a new fundraiser with her Tennessee-based charity: Big Fluffy Dog Rescue, her pictures could soon help other pooches in need.

Fifty percent of the profits from Sanscrainte's photographs will go to the charity. She has already sold about eight prints.

Anything Sanscrainte can do to help the castaway canines that she sees on a regular basis is enough.

"The ignorance and the cruelty – (Big Fluffy Dog Rescue) get a lot of dogs that are used as target practice," she said. "The dogs are just throwaways for the most party. They are also used for dog fighting. We see a lot of that up here, believe it or not."

Raising money for a national animal non-profit is one thing, but the commitment to foster dogs is a whole different venture.

Sanscrainte said that foster owners feed the dogs, care for them and provide them with medical attention.

Right now, she has two of those dogs at her home, coupled with three of her own.

One of those dogs – Liam – came from a hoarding situation. He's not very social, but is fine with other animals in the house.

Sanscrainte balances the animal care, and her photography hobby, with a career as a phlebotomist at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua. She is also a wife and a mother of two daughters, 23 and 19.

At least 10 other people help out the Big Fluffy Dog Rescue charity within a 20-mile radius of Sanscrainte.

The non-profit is always looking for more people, and those interested can apply online.

If you are interested in purchasing one of Sanscrainte's prints, you must do so at this website for proceeds to go toward Big Fluffy Dog Rescue.
