NH Woman a Finalist for NASCAR Humanitarian Award

Local volunteer has dedicated last 10 years to advocating for children caught up in the legal system.

New Hampshire's own Lisa Hall, who is a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Volunteer, has been selected as a finalist for the NASCAR Foundation’s Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award.

Hall has served more than 10 years as a CASA volunteer, supporting children who are in the court system and often times removed from homes due to abuse or neglect.

As a CASA volunteer, she advocates for a child’s best interest in court and the community, and participates in continuing education courses related to courtroom procedures, social service, the juvenile justice system and the special needs of abused and neglected children. For many abused children, their CASA volunteer will be the one constant adult presence in their lives. Volunteers like Hall typically spend an average of 1.5 years working with and serving their children until they are in a safe and permanent home.
