Windham Man, 76, Loved Organizing Social Events & Gatherings

Harry L. Milliken succumbed to lung cancer last week.

Windham, NH – Harry L. Milliken, 76, of Windham, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.. He was the beloved husband of Gratia E. (Cruise) Milliken, to whom he was married for 40 years.

Born in Portland, Maine on December 29, 1936, he was the son of the late Harry and Edna (Murchie) Milliken. Harry worked as an engineer at IBM in Boston for 25 years. He then worked in tech support for MFS until his retirement in 2000. In his free time, Harry enjoyed woodworking and building computers. He was also the official ombudsman at Hadleigh Woods, where he loved organizing social events and gatherings.

Harry will be deeply missed by his wife, Gratia; son, Scott Milliken of Moore, OK; daughter, Kimberly McLellan of Fairfield, ME; 2 sisters, Carole Wakem of Scarborough, ME and Nancy Mason of Gray, ME; 6 grandchildren; great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and celebrate Harry's life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 from 4 - 8 PM. Funeral services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested, in Harry's honor, memorial contributions be made to Amedisys Hospice of Londonderry, 1 E Commons Drive, Unit 33, Londonderry, NH 03053 or to the charity of one's choice.
