Windham Woman, 59, Owned Local Embroidery Business

In addition to knitting and crocheting, Susan McCluskey was very involved in many local charitable endeavors.

Susan L. McCluskey, 59, of Windham, N.H., passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at the Elliot Hospital, Manchester, N.H., surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 21, 1954, in Rockland, Maine, and was a daughter of Lois (Verdone) Stackpole-Alley and the late Robert Stackpole.

Susan owned and operated Crochet and Embroidery Accents in Derry for several years. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and had a number of copyrighted products she created.

Susan was also very actively involved with the Order of the Eastern Star, Rockingham Chapter #3 in Derry. She was a Past Mother Advisor for the Derry Assembly #15, Past State Mother Advisor for the NH Rainbow Girls, and a Past Worthy Matron for the Rockingham Chapter of the O.E.S. She was also a member of the Derry Rotary Club and had been named Rotarian of the Year. She enjoyed traveling and gardening. Susan was also actively involved with the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life

She is survived by her husband, Barry McCluskey; one daughter, Sara A. McCluskey of New Hampshire; her mother, Lois Stackpole-Alley and her husband, Stephen, of Maine; one brother, Robert Stackpole and his wife, Lucy, of Maine; one sister, Connie Ciruzzi and her husband, Daniel, of New Hampshire; and one brother-in-law, Alan McCluskey of Massachusetts.

Calling hours were held on Saturday, January 4, in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A
