Christmas Lights/taxes

My family moves to Windham four years ago I'm that time I've seen a steady increase in our taxes. I don't know who is responsible for putting up the lights at Searles Castle but for the second year in a row I personally think they look terrible. They look messy and thrown up there as if the person could care less. I wouldn't want to throw a party there. For a town where we spend so much in taxes it would be nice if we took some extra time in how we decorate for the Holidays and in our towns landscaping because I have to say again it's disappointing not only now at the holidays bit also in the summer when the grass doesn't get cut and weeds don't get pulled!

Please reconsider having an event here at Searles School and Chapel. I put up the lights every year and I though I was doing a pretty good job as most comments are positive. 'Sorry you don't like them. I too pay increasing taxes as a resident. My part-time position doesn't even get close to paying them. I invite you and everyone to visit this town treasure (inside and out) and you will see how donations, volunteerism and love for town history keep this facility standing. 'Looks like I might get some help with lights - Thanks!

I apologize if I sounded harsh I by no means meant to. I appreciate the time you and all the volunteers do to keep the castle going. I may be wrong but it looks like the lights were redone and they are beautiful. Made a big difference, of course I understand just my opinion.

I agree! The new lights look great!! Thank you to our neighbors at Delahunty Nurseries. 'Just a detail...We are the Searles School and Chapel, the Searles Castle is across the road. It is another town treasure that you should experience.
