Thank you to the WTC! Don't forget to vote, or who not to vote for.

There was a very nice gentleman that I bumped in to at the transfer station this morning.  He must have been from the WTC, because he handed me a flier that listed the candidates to vote for if I wanted to get our out-of-control taxes in order.

I wanted to say thank you; I know exactly who NOT to vote for now on March 11th.  If the candidates being endorsed by the WTC (should I be surprised?) are the likes of Ken Eyring, I have to assume it is best to avoid the others WTC are endorsing as well.

But, this is the norm, the WTC pops their head out around election time, fear mongers, and tries to gets their guys elected.

I have the biggest bone to pick with Ken Eyring, who along with his buddy Tom Murray, are trying to force a Charter School on Windham.  Tom has land up rt. 28, and plans to build a school this year, but needs approval from the WSB to set everything in motion.  Of course, they are touting "zero tax impact".  Clearly, a charter school would siphon major money away from our current schools.  I just don't understand how Windham makes a logical place for a charter school.  Nice try though, guys.  Just think, maybe if we invested in our schools, your property value would go up even more!

If that is what the WTC stands for, I for one, do not want to see anyone associated with them in any power of position in our town.  We talk about new blood, and fresh ideas, well, I would urge anyone to really consider blackballing the people running for office who are associated with this group.

Our teachers have not had a raises in years, the current contract only calls for yearly raises next even reaching 2%!  I remember catching Laura Scott (director of the town economic development committee) smirking before the board as they reviewed the budget, as she eluded to the fact that the ~5% yearly budget increase (largely for salary increases) for her group was "automatic", so it was nothing that needed debating at the meeting.

You want to talk about wasteful spending, maybe the WTC can take a look at some of the town employees' salaries and entitlement to overtime.  I attached the staff salary information from 2012 (school and town), have a look.  How are raises and overtime approved in this town?  Do employees have yearly goals that determine pay increases? Do some departments have carte blanche when it comes to doling out overtime and other supplemental pay?

Don't forget to vote, and save Campbell Farm!!!!
