Windham Man Critically Injured in Motorcycle Crash

The accident occurred on Thursday in Sterling, MA.

A Windham man was critically injured in a motorcycle crash Thursday in Massachusetts.

The operator of the motorcycle, Dennis Giugno, 37, of  Windham is in critical condition at a Massachusetts hospital, according to Sterling, MA Police.

Sterling Police said they responded to numerous calls at 3 p.m. Thursday about a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Chocksett and Leominster roads in their town. Upon arrival, they observed a 2-vehicle crash involving a passenger car and a motorcycle. The motorcyclist had severe injuries and after being stabilized by Sterling EMS was transported to a local hospital.

Giugno was operating a 2014 Harley Davidson at the time of the crash, according to police. He was wearing a helmet, as is required by Massachusetts state law, and he has a valid New Hampshire motorcycle license.

Police said preliminary indications are that Giugno was traveling north on Leominster Road and a 2003 Buick was making a left hand turn from Leominster Road onto Chocksett Road. The car sustained significant damage as well.

During the accident scene investigation, one lane of travel was closed for approximately two hours.

The accident remains under investigation by the Sterling Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police accident reconstruction team and the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office. No charges have been filed against either operator at this time.
