New 'Welcome to Windham' Sign Approved

It will be placed on Mammoth Road near the Pelham line.

The Board of Selectmen approved the installation of a new "Welcome to Windham" sign on Mammoth Road at its meeting on Monday night.

Community Development Director Laura Scott said she has been working with two local businesses, A.P. Dailey and the Picnic Table Factory, that have agreed to volunteer their time to help build the sign.

The new sign will be placed on town owned land so people entering town from Pelham will see it. The sign is based on a sign the town of Londonderry has on Mammoth Road in its town.

Scott said the sign will probably be 3 feet by 4 feet, and no higher than 8 feet high. It will include the town seal and the date it was settled.

In order to get the state to sign off on it, approval was needed from selectmen, and they voted unanimously, 5-0, to approve the sign placement.
