Speed Limit Signs in and out of Windham?

Town safety officials will present a case for nine new speed limit signs to Windham Selectmen.

Among several items of interest on tonight's Windham Board of Selectmen agenda, Police Chief Gerald Lewis will request 30 m.p.h. speed limit signs at each of nine town lines.

If approved, the requested signs, according the the Lawrence Eagle-Tribune, will be placed on Lowell, Range, Salem, Rockingham, North Lowell, Mammoth, Depot and Kendall Pond Roads, at the Derry, Londonderry, Pelham and Salem town lines.

That item is one of several issues on the agenda for Monday's meeting, which is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Community Development meeting room at 3 Lowell Road.

Other items scheduled to be discussed include:

  • A potential police gun range on town property.
  • A request by the Cub Scouts to have a fire pit at Town Beach on Sept. 20.
  • Discussion of an Eagle Scout project regarding "Welcome to Windham" road signs.
  • Adoption of sexual harassment and safety policies.
