Windham High School science and engineering students competed in the New Hampshire Science Olympiad.

Windham High School science and engineering students competed in the New Hampshire Science Olympiad last month at Saint Anselm College.

The Science Olympiad hosts 20 events and teams of 15 students from high school complete in a broad array of events. The events cross all disciplines: Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Astronomy and Geology. Several events require electrical and mechanical skills as well.

The 2014 Science Olympiad saw 19 teams from 14 high schools compete. Medals were awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, and ribbons for 4th to 6th place.

Two Windham teams, totaling 26 students, competed this year and performed well in many of the events, according to Michael Demers, a Chemistry instructor who served as Science Olympiad coach.
