Everything You Need to Know About NH Wine Week

It's another busy week, with the State of the Union, a local political event, and municipal meetings, too.

1. New Hampshire Wine Week Begins Monday. The New Hampshire Liquor Commission’s 9th Annual New Hampshire Wine Week begins Monday, Jan. 27 and runs through Sunday, Feb. 2. Click here for more details.

2. State of the Union Tuesday. President Barack Obama will give the annual State of the Union Address on Tuesday at 9 p.m. Stay tuned to Patch on Tuesday for reaction from New Hampshire political observers on both sides of the aisle.

3. Hemingway for Governor? So far, no Republican candidates have publicly announced a run for governor in 2014. But rumor has it that Andrew Hemingway may be thinking about challenging Democrat Maggie Hassan. A Draft Andrew Hemingway for Governor page has even popped up on Facebook. On Thursday, Jan. 30, Hemingway will host a "Solutions First Rally" at the Yard Restaurant in Manchester, a possible sign that he may be gearing up for a run.

4. Filing Period Runs Through Friday. The filing period for town and school offices began last week and runs through Friday, Jan. 31.
