Weekend Planner: Plenty to do In and Around Windham

And there's a ton to do around the Granite State.

  • The Currier is Free. Manchester's premiere art museum is free this weekend ... but only if you’re a Bank of America or Merrill Lynch customers. 
  • Bedford Historical Society. Stop by the Kendall House in Bedford on Saturday and Sunday for free workshops, scavenger hunts, and admission.  
  • Girls’ Day Out. Stop by the Salem Margarita’s Mexican Restaurant this weekend for a special shopping event for the ladies from 2 to 6 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, including product samples and raffles.
  • Windham Pancakes. Help out the Windham Cub Scouts at 7 a.m. on Saturday at St. Matthew’s Church where they will be holding a pancake breakfast. All-you-can-eat for $5, or $20 per family. 
  • Thortons Ferry Fair. The school’s holiday craft fair starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday and features all kinds of fun activities including a huge raffle, goodies, and things for the kids too.
  • Flea Market. The Nashua Senior Center hosts a flea market/book sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. More than 30 vendors will be in attendance. 
  • Candy Buy Back. St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua will be accepting unopened candy between 10 a.m. and noon on Saturday in exchange for prizes. The candy will be donated to military service members.
  • UNH Hockey. Are you a hockey fan and an AARP member? Head over to the Wildcats game at 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Whittemore Center Arena in Durham on Saturday for $10 tickets and a pre-game reception too.
  • Help Best Buddies. Best Buddies New Hampshire will be holding a masquerade gala at the Capitol Center for the Arts at 7 p.m. on Saturday. Proceeds from the event, featuring the Eric Grant Band, will go towards opening a state office for the nonprofit.
  • The Slakas. At the Jade Dragon in Merrimack at 9 p.m. on Saturday, the band returns, offering dancing and fun, without a cover charge.
  • Trinket Fair. The popular fairy angel treasure hunt returns to the Crowne Plaza in Nashua with all kinds of entertainment and fun at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday. Bring a donation for the Community Food Pantry Drive for discounted entrance fee.
  • JFK Assassination at 50. Historian Christopher Daley looks at all the alternative theories and evidence at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Nashua Public Library. 
  • Library Gala. The Bedford Public Library holds its annual gala, featuring the play “Love Letters,” at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday in the McAllaster Room.
