10U Softball Gives Solid Effort at State Finals

The state final took place the weekend of July 14.

From Windham Baseball and Softball Windham Softball 10U played in the state finals the weekend of July 14th in Litchfield. To say it was hot and humid, can’t even begin to describe the oppressive weather of the day. Even though they lost two of their three games, there was some incredible softball played by these young ladies. Sam Adamson “had 3 RBIs.” Nicole Hero “caught a pop fly in left field for an out.” Taylor Dufield “won MVP in game 3.” Eilis O’Neil “made the last out in game 3 behind home plate.” Leeten Adolt “made a throw out at 3rd in game 3.” Molly Breton “stole 2nd base”. Maggie Breton “caught a line drive in game 2 for an out”. Lindsey Murphy “stole 2nd, 3rd and home in game 3”. Alexis Nikitas “had an awesome bunt in game 3”. …

Destination Imagination State Competition Results

Three Windham teams among those moving on to Global Finals.

HAMPTON – Outstanding logic, creativity and out-of-the-box problem solving skills are sending 39 student teams from around the state to the world’s largest creative problem-solving competition, Destination ImagiNation Global Finals. Saturday at Winnacunnet High School in Hampton, New Hampshire Destination ImagiNation held its State Finals competition where qualifying teams competed in judged challenges that incorporated core school subjects with a focus that is technical, scientific, arts-based, improvisational, structural or social-learning. These teams had advanced through competition around New Hampshire earlier in the month. What makes DI unique is that all solutions, including all ideas and construction must be done SOLEY by the team …
