Lightning May Have Caused 3-Alarm Fire in Windham

The fire was reported around 12:40 p.m. Thursday.

UPDATE: Windham Fire Chief Tom McPherson told the Union Leader that a lightning strike is believed to have started the fire at 32 Hawthorne Road on Thursday afternoon. However, he said it's too early to tell for certain if that was the cause.

Firefighters are at the scene of a reported 3-alarm fire on Hawthorne Road in Windham.

The fire was reported around 12:40 p.m. Thursday at 32 Hawthorne Road, according to emergency radio broadcasts. The fire reportedly started in the attic and heavy flames can be seen coming through the roof.
